GOAL REACHED: INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION - LEGO®!

The INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION - built with LEGO®! We can be hopeful that the LEGO® folks are onboard after the public campaign to give a generation of kids a remarkable project to build.

The LEGO® Review Begins

This project qualifies for the First 2015 Review, which includes projects that reach 10,000 supporters between early January and early May.

The review is a thorough process and from its start, and can take several months. When finished, we make a "go/no go" decision to develop and sell a product based on the International Space Station project.

When the review is complete, we will inform you of our decision. If green-lit, this project goes into the longest phase of the project; the Development phase. During this time, LEGO® model designers refine the product and develop it for release, we create the product materials (box, instructions, marketing), and get everything ready for a production run. This also takes several months.

MAIN FACTS:
- Current configuration (without Nauka - will be subject to upgrades soon!)
- Modular concept: You can freely reconfigurate the station to your own ideas (might come with additional pieces to cover upcoming upgrades of the original station)
- Comes with 2 Soyuz and 2 Progress capsules
- Including astronauts and cosmonauts minifigures

PLAYABLE FEATURES:
- Turn the solar panels to always catch the best sun!
- Turn the radiator elements to best shade the habited modules and get rid of their heat
- Reconfigure the ELC racks to your needs
- Grab spare parts from the ESP racks
- Control the famous Canadarm to manoeuvre equipment and support the astronouts
- Attatch the OBSS to the Canadarm to do inspections of the stations hull
- Attatch the Dextre to help the Canadarm doing it's work
- Upgrade the station along with the upgrades of the real one
- Play the building of the station - that was quite some re-arranging to do!
- Soyuz/Progress capsules can now be departed into the three components of these vessels. Play return to earth with them!

MODEL SIZE:
- Featured model size: XL slightly more than 1000 pieces (stand not included. would be feasible, but ugly. probably best, to hang it from the ceiling)

POSSIBLE EXTENTIONS (for illustration):
- A Space Shuttle based on the deceased model 3367 (but heavily modified) could be attached to the PMA-Docking port (like the real one used to do)
- The Hubble space telescope is possible in the same scale (fits in the Shuttle's cargo bay)
- As it turns out, the rocket of set 3368 can be used to lift the Soyuz capsules to the ISS
- MIR and the upcoming Chineese Space Station may be included in the manual. There are enough bricks to build them alternatively!

The groundwork was laid over nearly 100 years: Other administrations — from Presidents Truman to Nixon to Clinton — have tried and failed to immortalize this principal into American law.

Then, after nearly a century of work, an improbable piece of legislation with a lot of heart behind it ended its journey on the President's desk on March 23, 2010.

Since then, health reform in America has been the law of the land and after more than five years under this law 16.4 million Americans have gained health coverage. 129 million people who could have otherwise been denied or faced discrimination now have access to coverage. Health care prices have risen at the slowest rate in nearly 50 years. And it will live on as a legacy achievement not just of this administration, but of all those who fought for it for so many years.

For millions of Americans, health reform has meant finally having access to the preventive services that will keep them — and their families — healthy for good. In the day-to-day, that means getting regular check ups and screenings. In the long run, it means safeguarding against chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
