The Evolution of Nina Simone

Not only was Nina Simone one of the greatest contributors to Black history through her music, she was also as champion for the civil rights movement. Nina Simone is one of the most iconic Black singers of the 20th century. She fought through bipolar disorder and Jim Crow Laws and she was friends with civil rights leaders like Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. and activists like Muhammad Ali.
