John Lewis

John Lewis (February 21, 1940 – July 17, 2020) was an American politician and civil rights leader who served in the United States House of Representatives for Georgia's 5th congressional district from 1987 until his death in 2020. Lewis worked 60-plus years of social activism and legislative action on civil rights, voting rights, gun control, health-care reform and immigration.
